Gateway for Kids Programs Gateway for Kids offers programs year round to children in grades K-8th. All of the programs are based on developing relationships, providing a safe environment, and giving inner-city kids new opportunities. You can find out more about our different programs in the paragraphs below. After School Ministry ![]() During the school year from September until May there is an after school Reading Club. The Reading Club offers reading tutoring to kids who are in grades K-6th on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00. The children who are involved receive one on one reading tutoring with the same volunteer each week. During Reading Club the kids also have Bible time, a healthy snack, and access to fun games and the computer lab. ![]() The Harambe Program also meets during the school year from September until May. Harambe is a swahili word that means to come together. The program meets in homes, once a week, and is for grades 6th and up. The kids involved are equipped to become leaders in their homes and schools though Bible study and discussion of relevant issues that they deal with on a day to day basis. We also spend time playing teambuilding games and eating a healthy meal together. ![]() Summer Club ![]() The Summer Club starts at the beginning of June and meets for 7 weeks. The Summer Club meets on Tuesday, Wednesday,and Thursday from 3:30-6:00 and is for kids in grades K-8th. The kids do many different activities. There are fields trips, sport classes, dance, art, Bible time, computers, games, and lots of playing outside. ![]() Kids Across America Kamp Kids Across America Kamp is a Inner-City Christian Sports camp for kids ages 10-18. From July 28th-August 4th the kids attend this camp which is located near Branson, Missouri. In order to go, the kids have to complete 4 work projects in the community and their parents have to help with one work project. The camp is life-changing and the kids meet many African-American and young adult role models who show them how to have fun in a positive way!
